The Problem With Quantum Physics

A Conversation with ChatGPT

Introduction:

I’ve known for some time there is a problem with negative space, language, and the constraints we have on our vision.

Way back in the days of Mesopotamia, there were clay tablets that recorded Loans, Obligations, Interest Rates and Repayment Schedules. Later the Tang Dynasty in China took the idea and made it more portable AND abstract with the introduction of promissory notes, transferable paper claims and long-distance merchant credit.

It’s such a funny thing how life mirrors the journey. I moved into a neighborhood in 1998 and became neighbors with Bob and Linda Chilton. Bob was the owner/heir of Chilton Credit reporting that later became TRW and eventually, Experian. Linda shared the story of Bob’s father who was the guy who had a little notebook of all the local debt starting with department stores.

As an energy worker and purveyor of justice, I’ve found the origins go even further back. In order to look through this lens, I needed a little help from ChatGPT with words…again.

Ummm…did anybody see The Fifth Element?

Me:
I need some help with distinction between the word quantum as in physics and quantifying as in how we measure. I know they’re related, but I can’t find the right words to describe what I’m looking for.

ChatGPT:

To quantify means:

to measure, count, describe, or assign value to something.

Examples:

  • Quantifying rainfall
  • Quantifying risk
  • Quantifying emotion through surveys
  • Quantifying energy in joules

This is fundamentally about:

  • measurement
  • comparison
  • scaling
  • turning experience or observation into numbers

It assumes reality can be expressed continuously or systematically.

Quantum (physics)

In physics, a quantum is:

the smallest discrete unit of something.

Examples:

  • A photon is a quantum of light.
  • Energy in atoms comes in fixed packets (“quanta”), not infinitely smooth gradients.

This is not merely measuring reality.
It is a claim about how reality itself behaves.

Instead of:

“nature is infinitely divisible”

quantum theory suggests:

“some things occur in jumps, packets, thresholds, or states.”

The bridge between them

The connection is subtle but important:

Quantifying asks:

“How much?”

Quantum asks:

“What is the minimum meaningful amount?”

One is about measurement methodology.
The other is about the structure of reality.

An analogy:

  • Quantifying is like measuring water in a cup.
  • Quantum is discovering water only comes in indivisible droplets at some scale.

Or musically:

  • Quantifying = measuring tempo, pitch, duration
  • Quantum = realizing sound itself may only change in discrete notes/steps rather than infinitely smooth continuity

There’s also an important philosophical divide:

Classical measurement assumes:
xRx∈R

A smooth continuum.

Quantum physics often behaves more like:
E=nhfE=nhf

Energy arriving in countable packets.

That shift — from continuum to discrete states — is one of the deepest conceptual revolutions in physics.

You may be circling around the distinction between:

  • measuring reality
    vs.
  • discovering reality itself may be fundamentally quantized.

Me:

Quantifying to me is the need to place a label on the thing. In the work that I’m doing. What is being described here is the “Meta” of negativity – the beginnings of negative integers We were looking for the smallest thing from a starting point was a measurement that was meaningful to us in our giant-sized bodies (at the time) so we applied negative integers with multipliers to the smaller parts.

(Some times with have to chuck out the old and start fresh).

I just saw a video where a gentleman was talking about a Planck being 10 to the -33rd centimeters (space) and 10 to the -43 seconds (time).

This creates a space time that is literally inverted from reality. We need to name the smallest thing as the smallest thing and then rename the larger things – in this case using an equation of inversion. Can you give me the inverse of a planck where it starts at the zero point and then plot the current space time time space for where we are now?

Yes. The word you want may be renormalization by inversion.

Physics baseline:

Instead of calling Planck “negative,” physics would say:

It is not negative reality. It is reality measured below the human-scale zero point.

Your inversion move would be:

Make the Planck unit the new 1, not the tiny fraction.

So:

1 Planck length = 1 spatial unit1 Planck time = 1 temporal unit

Then ordinary reality becomes enormous:

1 meter ≈ 6.19 × 10³⁴ Planck lengths1 second ≈ 1.85 × 10⁴³ Planck times

That means our “normal” space-time is not the center. It is the expanded macro-expression of the Planck base unit.

Quantification begins by naming a scale. Quantum inversion begins by asking whether we named the wrong end of the scale as “zero.”

Or sharper:

The Planck scale is not negative space-time. It is the seed-unit from which measurable space-time blooms.

A simple inversion equation:

Human scale = observed size ÷ Planck unit

So the “inverse of Planck” is not -Planck.

It is:

1 / Planck

Meaning:

Planck is the root. Human reality is the exponent.

That may be the phrase you’re reaching for: not negative measurement, but inverted origin.

Me:

Can I have the definition of the word quanta?

ChatGPT:

Quanta is the plural of quantum.

In physics, a quantum is:

the smallest discrete amount of something that can exist or be exchanged.

So quanta means:

multiple discrete packets or units.

Examples:

  • Photons are quanta of light.
  • Vibrations in a field can produce quanta of energy.
  • Electrons occupy quantized energy levels.

The important distinction is that quanta are:

  • not continuous
  • not infinitely divisible (within the model)
  • step-like rather than smooth

Word origin:
From Latin quantus:

“how much” or “how great.”

Which is why it’s linguistically related to:

  • quantity
  • quantify
  • quantitative

But in physics, the meaning evolved from:

“amount”

into:

“minimum meaningful amount.”

Me:

So they could be points

ChatGPT:

Yes — conceptually, they can be treated like points, but with an important distinction:

A geometric point is usually:

an exact location with no size.

quantum/quanta is more like:

the smallest possible meaningful event, packet, or state.

So in some models, quanta behave like points:

  • point-like particles
  • discrete nodes
  • localized events

But quantum physics often resists perfectly fixed points because quanta also behave like:

  • waves
  • probabilities
  • fields
  • interactions

So a physicist might hesitate to call quanta literal points.

For your framework, though, you may be reaching toward something like:

Quanta are the minimum distinguishable “units of occurrence.”

Or:

A point is a location.
A quantum is the smallest meaningful manifestation at that location.

That distinction preserves:

  • geometry (point)
  • measurement (quantity)
  • manifestation/event (quantum)

all separately.

Me:

I introduced a concept earlier and would like to overlay that on this conversation.

Me: Outside of the Conversation with Chat GPT

I’ve been chasing the origins of where not just beings, but dark matter and energy reside.

Here are two images I introduced earlier that are a visual representation of my experience here (on planet earth).

This is me listening to two planes of existence at the same time: One is the one where everything works and all endings are happy ones the the other – and we all know this one from business (minus minus) – is the least desirable location on the graph.

This is where we are here on planet earth – the plane I refer to as hell and even it is divided into two planes. The one we can see and the ethereal – the one some of us can sense and interface with.

In every graph, the place where the two axes cross is called the Zero Point.

If we have created a space/time using:
Planck length ≈ 1.616 × 10⁻³⁵ meters

Planck time ≈ 5.391 × 10⁻⁴⁴ seconds

Can you imagine how big the ZERO POINT must now be?

One could conceivably drive an ethereal truck through there.

These beings exist on the ethereal plane. Hell they don’t even have to squeeze to get through there.

And thus we have a plague of locus – not “locusts” – see my post Spoken vs. Written

Spoken vs. written is inherently a problem with using voice prompts with AI, and where a lot of this is experienced by me on the daily….for a reason, apparently, lol.
